The proposal for the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive is tabled on the 14th of December. European Historic Houses welcomes the Green Deal. However, historic houses cannot be treated as 97% of the other buildings. Indeed, the simple energy solutions used for modern buildings, are often forbidden by protection laws.

To explain in detail the impact of the Fit for 55 package on privately-owned historic houses and the importance of keeping the exception of the EPBD 2010, EHH created a short film.

It displays three different examples of historic houses from Denmark, Germany, and France, and how the new legislation would affect them. The purpose of this video is to make sure that the specific situation of historic houses in Europe is understood by lawmakers to continue to have an exception in the new directive.
