Posted on 5 June 2013
Established in the province of Hainaut for eight centuries, the majestic Beloeil Castle has been a property of the de Ligne family since the end of the 14th century, when it was passed through inheritance from the Condés. Now in the hand of TRH Prince and Princesse Antoine-Lamoral de Ligne, remarkable work has been undertaken to promote tourism and social development through the organization of cultural events and activities, welcoming thousands of visitors each years.
Another noteworthy aspect is the family’s involvement to promote the cultural heritage of not only the Castle in itself but also the extraordinary library composed of some 20,000 books, the rare furniture from the 17th and 18th centuries and many paintings, as well as the magnificent French-style gardens.
